Project Name: Probin Program
Project Objective:
• To maintain close contact with all seniors citizens through regular meetings
• Regular health service provided by MBBS doctors to keep the elderly healthy
• Conducting loan programs to increase financial solvency of able seniors citizens
• Provision of special assistance in special cases (wheel chair, commode chair, stick blanket/sheet etc.)
• Developing a sense of respect and responsibility for the elders, and creating a bond between the youth and the elders by showing empathy towards them.
• Conducting sports and cultural programs to maintain the mental health of senior citizens
• Construction of specific recreational facilities (Praveen Kendra) for senior citizens.
Project Goal:
To ensure dignified, poverty-free, functional, healthy and secure social lives of the elderly.
Project Brief:
Implementing inclusive services. With the financial support of PKSF, the project is being implemented under the name of Senior Citizens’ Quality of Life Development Program with the aim of people-centered human development and human capacity building. Which is Tulasar and Chitlia Union of Shariatpur Sadar Upazila. Alaolpur Union of Gosairhat Upazila and Kanchikata Union of Vedarganj Upazila. Running in Algi Union of Haimchar Upazila in Chandpur District. The main beneficiary of which is Praveen. The project has been implementing activities since 2016, involving almost ———– senior citizens.

Beneficiaries: Elderly People who have crossed/above 60 years old.
Major activities:
01. Ward Elders Committee holds bi-monthly meetings through which elders can present their area.
02. Regular quarterly meetings of the Union Senior Committee are held to plan various activities
03. Each village of each union is visited periodically to provide health care to the sick elders
04. Awarding 05 best seniors and 05 best children in each union every year
05. Celebrating International Elderly Day like all countries of the world
06. 5 golden tea stalls are being run successfully in 05 unions which inspire others.
07. Distribution of assistive devices (wheel chairs/commode chairs, blankets/sheets, walking sticks) to the elderly.
08. Organizing annual sports and cultural programs for senior citizens at ward and union level every year for the mental entertainment of the senior citizens.
09. Special Eye Camp (Cataract Operation) Cataract operation of 150 people in 05 unions
10. Conducting loan programs among able-bodied seniors
11. Providing burial assistance to the deceased
